This past weekend, we had the privilege of presenting our ministry at Berean Baptist Church in Ogden, UT. Brother Dave Mallinak has been the pastor there for the past ten years. While we were there, the church was putting on their Christmas program, which included several choir specials, and small ensembles, as well as congregational singing. It was a very enjoyable service! During the service, I had the privilege of preaching a message about the Incarnation of Christ, which I entitled "Made in the Likeness of Men." The message was about four of the reasons why Christ took on humanity. I've included those reasons below:
I That He Might Die in Our Place (Hebrews 2:9)
II That He Might Destroy Satan and His Works (Hebrews 2:14)
III That He Might Deliver Us From the Bondage of Sin (Hebrews 2:15)
IV That He Might Demonstrate Compassion As Our High Priest (Hebrews 2:16-18)
On Monday, we drove over to Denver, CO where we boarded a plane bound for St. Louis, MO at a little after 9PM. Apparently, we left just in time, as Colorado was hit with a snow storm shortly after our departure. Praise the Lord! We landed in St. Louis a little after midnight, central time. But, we didn't make it to our hotel 'til after 1AM. Needless to say, the kids were pretty tired by then, but they did very well. Kathy had flown before. But this was Harry's first time on a plane, and he was pretty excited!
My father-in-law came and picked us up on Tuesday morning, and took us back to their house near Carbondale, IL. My father-in-law, Brother Ivan Plemmons, is the pastor at Philadelphia Independent Baptist Church in DuQuoin, IL. We'll be staying with my wife's side of the family for Christmas and New Years. So far, we've have a great time! The kids have really enjoyed spending time with their grandparents, and vice versa. Harry especially liked making cookies with my wife's mother.
My family and I hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Garden of the gods State Park
We've kept very busy the past couple of weeks. That's a good thing when you're on deputation, and trying to raise support. It means that you have many opportunities to present your ministry. For us, it means that we have had every Sunday and Wednesday scheduled for several months. And, praise the Lord, those meetings were not unfuitful!
Until last week, we were in Colorado, and had the opportunity to present our ministry in twelve churches. One church has already taken us on, and three others have promised to do so shortly. Praise the Lord! We've really enjoyed the pastors, and the people of the churches that we've had the privilege of attending. Our prayer is that God would touch the hearts of some of the other churches that we've been with for our ministry to Scotland.
We also had the opportunity to do a little sightseeing. We were able to visit Garden of the gods State Park near Colorado Springs, CO. It was a spectacular place! We think it ought to be called "The Garden of God" because it is an excellent example of His handiwork! We really enjoyed getting out, and stretching our legs, and seeing some of the beautiful things that the Lord has made. Plus, it was free. You can't beat that.
