A Cabin in the Woods

So far, our time in Montana has been very enjoyable.  We're surrounded on every side by mountains, rivers and streams.  Being in a place like this, really makes you stop and consider the awesome ability of our Creator.  The Bible tells us that: "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."  (Psalm 19:1)

During our first full week in Montana, we were able to spend some time at a Cabin with my Brother-in-law Tim Plemmons and his family.  It was a very nice place.  There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out and enjoy one another's company.  There were two big bedrooms, and two living room areas.  And the wood stove made the evenings warm and cozy.

The cabin was in a pretty remote area, at the base of the mountains, and hidden by massive trees.  Winding around the property, was a small stream that branched off in several different directions.  And every day, we saw several deer very near the cabin.  If we approached the deer slowly and quietly, we could get very near them before they would run away.
While we were at the cabin, we were able to spend much time in prayer and in Bible reading.  Instead of treating this time as a vacation, we chose to use it as a retreat.  Everyday, we read devotional books, had Bible studies together, and spent time talking about various Bible doctrines.  It was a very refreshing time, both physically and spiritually!
