There's Something Fishy Going On Around Here...

Last week, my family and I were able to attend a Preaching Conference at Victory Baptist Church in Alsip, IL.  Brother French is the pastor there.  Last year, we began full-time deputation at this same church, so it was nice to get back, and visit there once again. The conference itself was a great blessing.  We were able to see some old friends, including the Cashner family (pictured on the right), whom we plan to work with in Scotland.  Our pastor, Brother Curtis Martin, also attended the conference.  On Wednesday morning, I had the privilege of preaching, which was a great blessing!  I was a little nervous, preaching to other preachers, many of whom have been in the ministry longer than I've been alive!  But, the Lord was with me, and He helped me.

After the conference, we headed up to Marshall, WI where we presented our ministry at Marshall Baptist Church.  Brother Tom Rose is the pastor.  The church took us on for support before we ever came through.  So, it was a great opportunity to visit, and fellowship with one of our faithful supporters!  We also presented our ministry at Faith Baptist Church in Moline, IL and Lighthouse Baptist Church in Elgin, IL.  We had good services at both of those churches, and greatly enjoyed meeting their people.  We're praying that God's will would be done, concerning support.

On Tuesday, my family and I were able to go to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, IL.  We had planned on going to the zoo, but the forecast called for heavy rain, so we decided on the aquarium instead.  In the end, it was a good choice!  Harry and Kathy really enjoyed it, and as their parents, Tabitha and I have to admit that we enjoyed it too.  One of the tanks (pictured on the right) had huge fish that were almost as big as Harry!  That was my favorite exhibit. Tabitha really liked the different colored frogs, though I don't think she would have touched any of them!

I just noticed that my last two posts have been about fish!  My previous post (Gone Fishing) was about a fishing trip I took with my father-in-law, and my nephew.  There's something fishy going on around here!
